Description

The Old Masters Apartment is a 2 bedroom apartment in de middle of Amsterdam’s ancient city centre. The building was constructed in 1610 and it has the grandeur one can only find in the historical buildings at the heart of Amsterdam. This authentic apartment is in a peaceful and quiet family neighbourhood, and therefore not suitable for party people! The apartment is located on the ground and first floor and has its own patio. Covering 125 square meters, it can host up to 4 persons and is ideal for families. The apartment is fully furnished in a warm, classic style. Additional to the lovely furnishing, it is beautifully decorated with copies of the Masterpieces like The Night Watch by Rembrandt and the Sunflowers by Van Gogh. And, if you desire to get up close the originals, all you have to do is walk around the corner. ***ATTENTION*** Maximum 3 male guests allowed. The apartment is in an residential area and not suitable for party people and/or stag parties. Therefore this apartment can host maximum 3 male guests! Please do note that we will ask after booking full names, addresses, passport numbers, gender and birth days of all members of your party. We also need to receive copies of all passports. Do note that if you don't provided the required information 3 days before your arrival day we reserve the right to cancel the reservation without restitution of rent.

Neighbourhood

The Old Masters Apartment is situated on the Weteringstraat, in the old centre of Amsterdam. It’s located in the Museum quarters, with numerous museums within a few minutes distance. Just opposite of the apartment you can already find famous Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. But also for the more obscure museum lovers there is plenty to see, like the Cats Museum of Bag Museum Hendrikje. Other attractions in the immediate neighbourhood are The Leidsesquare, several theatres, the PC Hooftstraat (the most famous shopping street) and Holland Casino. If you fancy a stroll, all you have to do is walk for 5 minutes and you will find yourself in the tranquil Vondelpark or you can take a look at the “Het Spiegelkwartier”, a street full of the antique shops and art galleries.

The kitchen contains all the conveniences that one might want. It contains a hob stove with 4 gas cookers, a microwave and an oven. But of course it also contains a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, juicer, kettle and coffeemaker. In the kitchen area you will also find a large dining table with 6 chairs. The toilet can be found just down the hall.

Beds & Bathrooms

First Bedroom The first bedroom is situated on the same floor as the living area and has a double bed (180X200cm). It is a quiet, peaceful room at the back of the apartment with a flat-screen TV, bedside tables, lamps and some storage space. The patio will give you the chance to take in some fresh air and enjoy the sun at one of the rare, quiet outside places in Amsterdam. First Bathroom This glamorous bathroom is situated close to the first bedroom, like the second bedroom, on the ground floor. You can enter it by using the other staircase. It contains a bath, separate shower, hand basin and toilet. Second Bedroom with ensuite bathroom You can reach the second bedroom via the staircase in the living room. The second bedroom is situated on the grond floor and has a double bed (180X200cm). The tiles in are the real origional tiles from the 17th century! It is located at the front of the apartment and conpains a flat-screen TV, bedside tables, lamps and plenty storage space. The ensuite bathroom contains a shower, double hansbasins, washmachine and dryer.

Paintings for sale! All painting in the house can be bought. Select the painting(s) you want to buy and pay during check out to the Property manager. The paintings (size 40x50 cm) will fit into a regular travel bag. Special Requirements

Please contact first the reservation department before making a last minute booking for the same arrival day. (minimum stay 7 nights) Late check-in We charge a late check-in fee of € 25 if you check-in between 8pm and 9pm and € 50 for check-ins between 9pm and 12pm. Check-in after midnight is only possible in very exceptional cases. Please e-mail us at least 3 days before your arrival to arrange a late check-in. Refundable security deposit A refundable security deposit is applied to the booking and can only be secured by a credit card authorization. Authorization via credit card means: we ask the credit card company to give authorization for the security deposit amount. No payment will take place, only a credit check!
